How Deep are Your Roots?
It's the biggest question that most Internet marketers, and business owners are asking...'How can I be successful and make money with my business?...or 'Why can't I make money with my business?
Those are two of the questions that I get asked all the time. A lot of people would answer those in different ways. Some would say it's your program, it's your product, it's your lack of advertising etc...they would try and breakdown your marketing efforts and pin the failures on just that, your marketing.
To me there's only one answer...are you ready? More than 90% of the time there is only one answer to that question...it's YOU! Look, if others are making money and being successful promoting the same products and services within your company, or similar companies, then the reason your not is; not the company, it's not the product or service you sell, it's not the compensation plan, because those that are successful are using those same basic resources that you are.
So...if your not succeeding and you know others are, then the only answer would have to be YOU...wouldn't it?
I love to use pro sports analogy to get my point across. Most of the time with pro athletes, those that perform the best get paid the best. And to perform the best you must first work on YOU...so you can be the best you can be in your chosen field.
I know this may be hard for you to swallow but the fact remains, if you want to be a success in your business, you first have to work on 'being the best you can be' period.
When you look at a tree, you see the trunk, the branches and leaves. What you don't see is the most important part of any tree...the roots. The roots go deep in the earth to give the tree the stability to withstand the elements of nature that would otherwise topple the tree over.
Where I live, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, we are famous for our 'Chinook Winds' that blow. A Chinook is a warm, westerly wind that blow throughout the year. They can change the temperature form -20c to + 10c in a matter of hours. They can reach speeds of 60 to 80 miles per hour. With winds like that, the trees here must have better root systems then most other places in the world...and they do. Nature has realized that the only way the tree will remain standing, flourish and grow, is to have a deep rooted system in place...right from the beginning.
Once you work on building a solid root system or base for your business, only then will you have the stability to withstand everything that will be thrown at, tearing down your successes. Only then will you have the ability to focus on exactly what you need to be doing to continue to build, expand and grow your business.
Start at the roots, then build upwards. When you take this advice, and use it, there will be no stopping your march to the top.

She Never Let Anyone See Her Teeth...Why?
A while back, when I was working in the retail grocery business, there was a cashier that I'll never forget. She was very attractive and yet every time she would start to talk to someone, her hand would cover her mouth. I finally asked an associate about this odd situation, and this is what he said.
Apparently when she was younger, she would get teased about her teeth. I found out that not only would her classmates tease her, but that her parents would actually make remarks about her teeth as well. I know kids can be cruel, but her own parents?
Well I did happen to catch a glimpse of her teeth one day, and they really weren't that bad, I mean I've seen much worse. But the fact of the matter was this...she had been programmed, at an early age, that her teeth were hideous looking. So she choose to believe that for the rest of her life and cover them up every time she opened her mouth.
Much in the same way, we get programmed at a very early age about many things that can last a life time. One of the most damming things is what we were taught, or not taught about money...making it, spending it, saving it, investing it and so on. We usually learn most of that by watching the way in which our parents handled their money issues.
In order to dramatically increase your chances for success, in anything, you have to reprogram your brain in order for you to move forward. Until you change your inner thoughts and beliefs, the way in which you view things, your results will never be as you want them. It doesn't matter how hard you work, how smart you think you are, how many successful friends you have.
"Once you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." That's a quote from Dr. Wayne Dyer, and it's dead on.
It all starts and ends with you...period. There's no one who can force you to change your inner thoughts, which directly result in your current actions, and are also the results of your current situation.
Some things you can do if you want to change...find a good mentor, read a good book, attend a seminar, listen to a good audio or watch a video on the subject.
Change your mind...change your life!

Thats a Pyramid Scheme!
The next time someone asks you if your network marketing business is a 'pyramid scheme' you can use the Bernard Madoff story to show them what a pyramid scheme really is. The biggest con in history, Madoff bilked his investors out of a reported 50 Billion dollars. And some of the investors were big named Wallstreet businesses as well as high profile Hollywood personalities.
Next time you see the next big, can't miss opportunity, you'll do your due diligence and research and investigate it properly, so you don't get duped. When so many people are looking for that easy payday, with little or no work involved, it's easy to see how these scams can get so big.
With the anonymity of the Internet, now more then ever before, you have to be careful where you invest you time and money. There are tons of shady business dealings promising fantastic returns on your money and time investments.
I used to think' how can people be so naive' and not just a couple, but literally thousands upon thousands of people...and then, well here's my story...
I almost got involved with a scheme dealing in the Forex money markets. Guaranteeing 25-30% returns in as little as 14 days. One of my subscribers was investing their money for a few months, and they were getting back the big returns. Well I half heartedly researched it, then I started to fill out the necessary forms in order to join. I was going to start with a small investment, then reinvest the returns...well I'm glad the confirmation process for the money transferring company took a few days because 2 days later I got an email from my subscriber that recommended it saying - that her returns were not coming in anymore - wow...that was close.
Now I wasn't going to invest my life savings or anything like that, which a lot of people do, but even losing a few hundred bucks in a scam like that would have driven me crazy!
The problem is that most of the people that get involved with these types of ponzi schemes do so on the advice of family and friends. So they really just trust the fact that it's all above board because of who introduced them to it. If a friend or family member wants you to put your time and money into a can't miss opportunity, you should really investigate as if your life depended on it...because it just may.

It Doesn't Matter if You Promote Web Prosperity - The Key is Focus
Boy...Web Prosperity is all everyone's talking about these days. It's the next 'big' launch that's going on right now. Some are so against it, saying things like it's a scam, another money grab etc...while others are in support of it, stating that it offers some useful tools and resources that are a lot cheaper then if you went out and bought separately.
I'm neither for, nor am I against Web Prosperity. What I am against is the fact that there will be thousands that jump on board. They jump on board because of the promise to be the next big thing. Plug in and let our system do the work for you. We've all heard that before.
The fact of the matter is this: it doesn't matter what you're promoting on the 'net...it only matters that 1) It's a quality product or program 2) It delivers great value to it's users. Of course you must do your own investigation into the comapany, founders, comp plan etc...
Once you have done your own research into the program, product, company etc... then you must focus on 'it' and only 'it' until it is producing the profits that you desire. Don't go and jump on the next 'big' thing that comes out. If you just keep jumping on the next one, I promise you that you'll never make a cent, in fact it will cost you money.
When I first started out in Internet marketing, about 9 years ago, I did the same thing. Saw a new program or system that promised the world, jumped on, saw the next one, jumped on, saw the next one, jumped on...and before I knew it, I was forking over money month after month.
The only way to be successful (making money) is to focus on one thing at a time. Once you have one business up and making money, then, and ONLY then can you choose to move on to the next income stream. And the best part is this...once you have your initial business, getting traffic, producing leads and making money, the next one you set up will be easier, faster and even more profitable then the previous.

Are You Joining Web Prosperity ?
By now you've all heard and seen the prelaunch of Web Prosperity. Are you going to join? Well let me tell you that thousands already have, and I'm sure some will make a little money, some will make a lot of money...but most will not make a cent, in fact they'll probably lose money!
If you're like a lot of people struggling to make a dollar online, then chances are you'll join another program like Web Prosperity, and start all over again, refocusing on something different.
I'm not saying that Web Prosperity is good or bad, right or wrong. What I am saying is that if you continually join and promote the 'next big thing' you'll struggle for the rest of your life trying to make money online.
If you don't focus on getting one project up and running, and making you money, then don't even bother trying because you'll end up wasting more money then you'll make.
I had a subscriber email me the other day, begging for my help and assistance. He was promoting a MLM company. When I started to map out what he needed to start doing everyday, just as quickly as he had come, he was gone. That was about 3 weeks ago, and I haven't heard from him since.
You see, most people don't want to do the actual work necessary to get an online business going. They'd rather believe that some over hyped new program is going to be the ticket. Well it could be, but you'll soon learn that you still have to do the work and gain the knowledge to succeed.
I'm sure you see all the gurus out there that promote their programs and services, as well as other peoples, and make a ton of money. But they didn't start off making a ton of money, in fact I've talked to several and they all started at the same place...the beginning!
They all had long term goals set forth, they had a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly plan of action for attaining those goals, they had drive and determination, they gained the education and knowledge they needed along the way, either on their own or through a coach or a mentor...and they ALL STAYED FOCUSED on ONE THING AT A TIME until it was working and making money!
Once you have your business running and bringing in a steady flow of cash, you can choose to start a new project, or you can stay focused on making your original business bigger and better.

How to Get More than 500 Friends in 30 Days
If you don’t have friends added to your friends list, being a part of a social networking site is rather pointless. On FaceBook, you can be average or you can be a super star. Obviously, since you are using FaceBook for marketing or business purposes, you want to be a superstar. You can achieve that status in as little as 30 days, but it does take a time commitment on your part.
First you should note that if you have fewer than 200 friends on FaceBook, this isn’t a bad thing. In fact, it’s an average thing. However, again, you want superstar status, so this won’t do for you.
Once you have 500 friends, you are considered to be popular, and people will gravitate to you, and when you have between 800 and 1000 friends, you’re essentially a FaceBook celebrity. Eventually, that’s what you should be working towards, but for now, let’s concentrate on becoming popular, with 500 friends.
Do not use automated software that adds friends to your FaceBook friends list. This defeats the purpose of social networking. Instead, do it the ‘hard way’. You will come to realize that the hard way really isn’t hard at all.
The first thing to do is to join all of the Internet Marketing groups that you can find. There are plenty of them out there. Each time you join a group, send a friend request to all members of that group.
Not all members will accept the request, but the majority of them will. This can be a little time consuming, but it is well worth the effort in the end. This should easily net you 200 to 300 friends. Try to add at least 30 new friends each day, for the full 30 days.
Once you’ve exhausted the IM groups, find other groups that are related to your business. For example, if you are in the personal development group, find those personal development groups, and start adding members as friends.
Use your existing website to get more friends, as well as your blog. Post your FaceBook badge on your website and blog. Make a blog post and invite your readers to add you as a friend on Facebook. If you twitter, tell your followers to add you on FaceBook. If you have a mailing list, send out a note and invite them to join you on FaceBook.
Again, it does take a concentrated effort on your part, but it is well worth it in the end, and if you are dedicated, you absolutely will have more than 500 friends in less than 30 days, and if you want that superstar celebrity status at FaceBook, you can continue to add new friends for an additional 30 days to reach that goal.
