Ever Had a Bad Experience With...

Everyone has had a bad experience with a car brand, restaurant, home builder, retail store, grocery store etc...and what did you do about it?

A few years back I was out at an Earls restaurant having super with my son and 'then' father-in-law. We all ordered coffee to start, then ordered our meals. Our coffee came and we all started to enjoy it, we were all big coffee drinkers. No sooner had I finished my first cup, and I could feel that tingling sensation of an oncoming cold sore...anyone who has had one, or gets cold sores knows that feeling...

By the time we finished our meals, and payed our bill, not only did I have a cold sore, my son had one...and my 'then' father-in-law had one as well. There was something very disturbing about that fact.

We knew that it was likely from the coffee, most likely the cup. Not cleaned properly, or maybe from someone in the kitchen that had the virus, touched our cups.

A couple days later I went back to the restaurant and had a talk with the manager. He was somewhat taken aback when I explained the situation. Basically telling me that 'it was not possible that we encountered the virus at his establishment'...wouldn't bend a bit on that conclusion. I left even more distraught and disappointed then when I arrived.

Needless to say, I have NEVER been back to that Earls restaurant again, or any Earls for that matter...and NEVER will.

How many people do you think I told about that crazy ordeal? Yep, everyone I knew! How much business do you think they lost? Well, unfortunately, probably not enough for them to notice...but they did lose some for sure.

If you treated your online customers like they don't really matter, or discredit an issue they have, with no reasonable explanation, how long would you be in business?

The answer shouldn't really surprise you. With the speed of the Internet and the modern technology out their today, it would take mere minutes to spread the word of the sour taste left by you and your business. With email, blogs, instant messaging, text messaging, cell phones etc...your name would be MUD before you knew what hit you.

Treat every customer, no matter how big or small, with the respect and courtesy that you, yourself, would want. And remember, 1 or 2 disgruntled customers in the online biz world could seriously damage or flat out ruin your name and your business with a few strokes of the keyboard in a matter of minutes!

Leave me a comment and share your own bad encounter, how you felt and were dealt with, and what the end results were.

Sales Letter Secrets From The Man
Who Sold Coal By The Train Carload

By Yanik Silver
=======================================

If you were to ask any of the top copywriting pros who they've
learned from - one name is sure to be repeated over and over
again -- Robert Collier.

In the 1930s, Robert Collier was able to sell just about
everything from train carloads of coal to men's clothing
simply by using the power of his pen. And right now I'm going
to share with you 2 of the most powerful letter concepts he
repeatedly used to sell millions!

One of Collier's most successful letters was his "will you do
me a favor?" letter. It was based on a story he read about
how a manager of a company asked a competing business for a
favor, which started a relationship that blossomed into the
two companies joining together.

Collier thought this same idea might work in print...and
boy did it ever!

Here's how he used this concept to sell 20,000 raincoats at
a time (and over a dozen other products). This letter is
really universal in its application, so study it carefully:

* * *
Dear Customer,

Will you do me a favor?

For twelve years now, you know, we have been selling the
famous "Keepdry" Coat direct to the consumer, at a savings
of many dollars from the usual retail price.

This year I want to vary our line a bit, so I have changed
the fabric to one that looks like a smart topcoat -- but
will still shed rain. And instead of the usual double-breasted
raincoat model, I'm using a single-breasted topcoat model
that appeals to men because it has style, and yet retains
that loose, comfortable look of the well-tailored light
overcoat.

I believe that anyone who ever gets out in stormy or wet
weather will like this "Any Weather" Coat better than any
raincoat or topcoat he can buy, but you know how it is in
merchandising -- you can never be sure of such things until
after you have sunk a lot of money in them.

Which brings me to the favor:

I want to make sure of the demand -- or lack of demand --
before we sink too much money in this new coat. So I've come
to you as a customer of the house:

Will you try out one of these new "Any Weather" Topcoats
for me for a week -- WEAR IT -- see how it feels, how it
looks, how it compares with topcoats you have bought at $25
or $30? Above all, how it keeps out wind and rain? And then
write me?

---sidebar---
Letter goes on to explain features and benefits of the
new coat with a special introductory price for
customers only.
-------------

Naturally, I am not making offers like this to everyone, so
whether you accept it or not, I should feel obliged if you
would return the card so as to insure against its falling
into other hands.

Naturally, too, your opinion will be of value to me only if
I get it n.o.w. -- before the Fall season has really opened --
before we are definitely committed for any great quantity of
these new all-weather coats.

Won't you, therefore, fill in the three simple measurements
on the card TONIGHT if you can, and mail it? On second
thought, better mail it right away -- while you have it in
your hand -- so there will be no chance of forgetting it.

* * *

You should notice the subtle psychology used here. People love
giving opinions and helping, so by asking, you make people
feel important.

Boardroom reports, one of the top direct marketing companies
in the country, (the people who write Bottom Line Business,
Bottom Line Personal, and Bottom Line Health) are using this
technique for two different offers (which means it's working
very well). Here's the opening to a recent letter I received:

* * *

Our records show that you're one of our best customers, and
that's why I'm writing.

Frankly, I need you help.

I'm asking you to take part in a little marketing trial I've
put together. Our company has a lot riding on the outcome,
so I'm really hoping you'll participate.

If you do, I'll send you one of the most valuable gifts we've
ever given away. It's our giant new, 51,000-word book, the
"DOCTOR'S LITTLE BLACK BAG OF REMEDIES AND CURES, Vol. I."

I'll explain our marketing trial in a moment...and why your
"verdict" is so important to us. But first, let me tell you
about the special free gift you'll receive just for taking
part.

---sidebar---
Letter continues by explaining the free gift and goes on to
explain how the fairest, most honest way to introduce new
products is through sampling.
-------------

* * *

That's pretty powerful stuff, eh?

Moving on to the second letter opening Collier found to be
magical. Here are a few examples:

==========================================================
"With your permission, I am going to send you FREE a new,
self-filling black beauty fountain pen-pencil, with your
name stamped upon it in 24 carat solid gold leaf."
==========================================================

Or...

==========================================================
"With your permission I am going to make an analysis of
the soil of your lawn to determine -- at my own risk and
expense -- what elements are lacking in it, what you need
for stronger, healthier, more closely grown turf." ==========================================================

These openings were used over and over again by Collier
because they worked. And they still work just as well today
-- here's how a recent mailing from Rodale press started
(mind you this is the control for the last 3 years -- not
an easy task when you mail millions):

* * *

books every released by an American publisher.

---Cut---
> letter continues.

* * *

Now both these letter concepts are incredibly powerful and
they've been proven to work for the last 70 years. (And my
bet is they'll continue working for at least 70 more!) So
what are you waiting for? Start putting these techniques to
work right away in your business.

Mormon Tabernacle Choir?

WOW...I'm sitting here, flipping through the channels, and I come across Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir special (not my normal programs I usually watch) and what a production. There must be over 500 members of the choir, the orchestra and the rest. I wondering how long it would have taken to set that whole production up?

But it really doesn't matter if it took 6 months to set it all up, which it could of, because the fact is that the end result is simply amazing. I'm also thinking that they didn't just drop all the stuff off, the instruments, chairs, stands, audio and the rest...then just start setting it up anywhere.

In order to get the same result,near perfection every time, they would have the set up and the running of the entire production, from start to finish, blueprinted in a carefully organized plan of action. If it took 6 months to get to their end result, then they knew exactly how much work had to be done each...and everyday!

But the beauty is that once they had their blueprint, the system set up and running, it probably seemed like it just ran itself. And of course over time they would have tweaked things here and there, all for a better end result.

Same holds true for most things including your business. But the nice thing is that once you've built one successful online business, it gets easier and faster to build your next one, and next one and so on....And the nice thing with the online business, once you build one, they can run on virtual autopilot, 24/7/365.

Find someone who is where you want to be, and copy what they did to get there. Then do it over and over and over. Work from a proven system and take consistent daily actions.

Don't over complicate things when you don't have to. Anything worth building is worth doing right the first time...and there's no better or easier way then to follow someone who has done it before.

Four Easy Ways to Get Free Marketing for Your Information Products

Some people considering how to profit from selling information products online may be intimidated at the thought of spending hundreds, or even thousands of dollars on an advertising budget to garner high doses of traffic to their domain.

But selling information products doesn’t mean you have to spend a penny on promotions, if you don’t want to. There are four fast and easy ways to market your wares on the ‘net for absolutely nothing.

Traditionally, in the offline world, whenever a company or business needs to get the word out about their product launch, they use a press release to distribute to the media. You can do the same thing for your information product by going to a site like http://www.free-press-release.com/, where you can submit free press releases that online media outlets will be able to view and publish.

Make sure that your press release is newsworthy and not similar to your online hyped-up sales copy. You can get more traffic delivered to your information product site by genuinely conveying the benefits of the item without it sounding like it was written by a used car salesman.

Another free option for you traffic needs is to utilize the article directories on the ‘net. There are two big ones: www.EzineArticles.com and www.GoArticles.com and both allow you to submit free articles that other site owners and publishers can pick up and use as their own. The only catch is, they have to keep your hyperlinks and Bio Box intact, so your readers can click through and land on your information product pages

One of the best ways to leverage the power of the World Wide Web is to immerse yourself in what web 2.0 is all about – social networking. You can participate in online forums and groups and with every post you make, drive customers to your site using a hyperlink in your signature file.

DO NOT use these social sites to direct sell your products or services. Treat them like you’re at a party, making friends and developing relationships. Only then will you be using social sites properly, and getting the best return on time invested.

You can even cloak your links to see which forums are generating more visitors to your domain and even which threads within each forum got a better response! Cloaking software is generally inexpensive but can help you profit from your information products because it eliminates the guesswork.

A powerful method to get free traffic to your information product is by creating a viral freebie that others can pass along over the ‘net. You can write a short five-page report for your niche, fill it with hyperlinks back to your information product site, and set it loose with free distribution rights to it. Although you’re giving something away for nothing, chances are you’ll see many visitors flooding to your site if your freebie is able to piqué their curiosity.

Those are some of the best ways to promote your business with little or no cost to you. And when you start using articles, blogs, social site etc…you will develop your reputation as an expert in your field. Then the never ending supply of quality leads and traffic will be coming in for ever…and you didn’t spend a dime doing it.

Once they set their minds to a certain business endeavor, they will surely find ways to make it successful. There are so many entrepreneur opportunities that you can find. All it takes is some research.

Many people think that putting up a business requires huge capital. When making a business investment, it is very important to have an ample amount of funds. Businesses starting from scratch will definitely need huge financial investments. But did you know that you can find entrepreneur business opportunities that require smaller amounts of investments?

Don't Make This Mistake on Social Networking Sites

Most people have no idea about the proper way to use all the social networks out there. Facebook, MySpace, YouTube etc...are not the places to go to try and sell your products or services.

In this video,Perry Belcher tells you what the social networks are all about. He explains things in a very simple way for you to understand.

Social networks allow you to connect with thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of people, not all will be interested in what you do or sell, but chances are they will come across some of their friends who are. By building a friendship with these people, they will recommend you to their friends who are looking for what you have to offer.

Check out the short video...if you understand how to use social networks, the way they were designed, you're way ahead of the rest of the people that are just trying to sell, sell, sell.

Creating Web Videos

Web videos are the hottest thing on the 'net today. But outsourcing the process can be extremely costly. As well, taking a course at you local community or business college is both time consuming and costly.

Well now you can learn, with easy video tutorials, in the comfort of your home anytime you choose, with out having to spend a fortune. Also with email access, it's like having your very own personal teacher, their when you need them.

Web Video University is a 4 week course created and taught by Dave Kiminski. Dave is a true professional, generating millions of dollars in sales for himself, as well as his customers. So he not only knows how to create web videos, he also knows how to create web videos that produce sales...over and over.

Dave explains things in plain, simple English, that anyone can understand...and more importantly, anyone can implement right away. Teaching everything from your lighting, cameras, to scene length, editing, adding sound and special effects...just like the pros.

I have taken the course, and produced my first video...a little crude, but having never made a video, it's not bad.

You don't need a video camera or experience...I didn't have either when I made my video.

You can scroll down to my review post of Web Video University in this blog to watch it.

I also know that Dave has knocked off about half the price for both levels of his course. This thing is worth thousands of dollars by itself, but Daves also giving you something 600 bucks of free resources to use.

Now's the time to take advantage of the huge saving being offered. Not only will you save on the course, you'll make ten times...or a hundred your invest back in profits.
